waiting to fly

God is slow to reveal his plan for me.
My very impatience
reveals my lack of trust-

my fledgling faith blooms slowly

Lumbering, I search for signs
grasping some too late
realizing what I missed long after,
vainly waiting for another
to show me the way
but,

crumb by crumb I am led along
my own tripping path-

a baby bird peaking
over the edge of the nest
fluttering tiny wings
still wet with wanting
testing out tiny talons
just waiting to fly.
